On New Year's Day we played with a gift that Gary & Courtney gave the girls for Christmas.
A sock-puppet-making kit!
The girls loved it (I worked just as hard as they did....they were the creative geniuses, I was the heavy-duty-laborer using the hot glue and needle and thread when needed).

Yep, there's something red on Mariah's chin.
It's marker, and I'm starting to think maybe it was a Sharpie because despite 3 face-washes a day, it's still there!
Then on New Year's night, Jesse made us a lovely Chinese dinner.

The girls tried to use the chopsticks he provided:

They each were able to pick up a piece of chicken or two, then they went for the forks. :o)
Also that weekend, we hit up the mall to spend the money Grandpa had given each of the girls for Christmas.

The girls felt so special and grown-up, spending their own money. It almost blew Mallory's mind that I gave her free-reign to buy whatever she wanted. And it almost drove me insane, trying to keep their money in order and separated from eachother's! But it was fun, and a day at the mall is a day well-spent, if you ask me. :o)
